Akio smiles at Anthy and holds out his hand to her. He asks her to return with him to the previous world, but Anthy says she feels sorry for him because he can only be a prince in that world. She says that Utena is her prince and the two of them are leaving - even if they are heading to the ends of the world, at least it's of their own will. Anthy then says goodbye to her brother, her prince.
Akio smirks at her, then reaches out to the treadmills, forcing them tighter together. If Anthy won't return with him then he'll kill her, so that they will be 'dead while living.'
Anthy doesn't watch idly, she jams her foot on the accelerator and tries to drive the Utena car out of the trap. It inches forward slowly, but it's apparent hat the treadmills will crush them first.
Anthy gathers up her power and screams, "Sekai o!" The treadmills start to break down and Akio is pushed back. Anthy and Utena emerge in a flurry of red rose petals, screaming, "Kakumei suru chikara o!" [For the power to revolutionize the world!]
The two disappear into the distance riding the remains of the Utena car. Red rose petals start flying over the castle car...
And destroy it entirely.
Rose petals also drift in a broken corner of a roof and blanket the area - once the Shadow Girls' command center - with red.
Where the Shadow Girls once were now lie straw dolls wearing the uniforms. Up on the top where E-Ko and F-Ko were directing is another straw doll, bearing the name tag, "Himemiya Anthy."
Behind her is the other straw doll, bearing the name tag, "Tenjou Utena."
