The Shadow Girls' computer system draws up some excellent wireframe models of the castle car. They say they'll guide Anthy through this obstacle. There are many tires underneath the car to prevent trespassers, and Anthy's going to have to be very careful and avoid them.
The Shadow Girls watch anxiously from their control center, looking very worried. Can such a thing be pulled off?
Anthy puts the Utena car through some hoops, dodging the wheels as she pushes it up a gear or two.
Anthy successfully dodges the wheels but many of the Locust cars are not as lucky, going up in spectacular explosions. Anthy continues to guide the Utena car, tires screeching, through the maze.
The end is in sight - light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak. The Shadow Girls start a countdown, and when Anthy clears the checkpoint, they cheer madly.
It's not over yet... The Castle Car pulls out get another weapon in its arsenal - a pair of treadmills that catch the Utena car in a vise-like grip.
The treadmills squeeze tighter and tighter, squishing the Utena car in the process. The glass windshield breaks, and Anthy shields herself from them.
Akio slowly approaches. Despite the fact that the Castle car is moving forward at no small speed, he floats inches above the pavement and walks casually towards Anthy in a spooky, surreal scene.
Anthy watches him approach with determination still in her eyes.
