As she gets pushed back, Juri starts laughing at Utena's efforts. She says Utena is good, but that she isn't strong enough to defeat her. She sidesteps one of Utena's lunges and begins her own attack, pushing Utena back this time. She says the Rose signet doesn't suit Utena. Utena says she can't loose, to which Juri smirks, "Do you really love Touga that much?" Above, Miki wonders who "Touga" is...

There's a flashback to the time Utena and Anthy were in the observatory. Anthy explains about the Castle in the sky, where "Eternity, miracles, and sparkling things" are. She says that the winner of the duels can enter the castles where all wishes come true. This is what it means to be engaged to the Rose Bride, and this is why the Student Council is willing to duel her, and she asks if Utena is still willing to throw away the Rose Signet.

Juri backs Utena into the wall and knocks the Sword of Dios out of her grasp. Utena gasps for air as Juri asks, "Are you still going to play prince?" Utena slowly gets up to take up the blade...

Anthy and Juri's eyes widen as Dios bends down and picks up the sword instead. Juri isn't fazed, wondering how far Utena will take this "Prince" game. Anthy starts running towards them but stops. Dios and Juri take up battle stances. The Sword of Dios flashes...

Orange rose petals fly into the air. When it clears, it's Utena who's struck the final blow. She slowly stands up tall, breathing heavily while Juri looks at her in shock. Anthy's also in shock, her eyes wide. "Just then, you looked like..."

Shadow Girl C-ko suddenly runs across, calling out, "Googai!" "News!" The sound of wailing comes from the ground below, and everyone's attention is suddenly riveted to it. Anthy's eyes narrow.

Kanae cries over a body found in the rose garden. "Akio...!" Meanwhile, the shadow girls ask, "Kashira kashira, gozonji kashira?" "I wonder, I wonder, do you wonder what I wonder?" They wonder, Isn't that the director? They found him in the rose garden. But who would kill him?
