* Soundtrack #8 and Toki ni Ai wa Single *

Adolescence Rush is the name of the 8th Utena soundtrack - the Utena Movie soundtrac. It's a wonderful CD with wonderful music. I bought my copy at Anime Expo 2000 at the Mikado Laser booth. The import is about $36.00 or so, depending on who you buy it from, the current currency exchange rate, and if you manage to get discounts or not. The import version comes in a pink cardboard box with the CD case inside - or at least the one I have did. SonMay and other companies have released bootleg versions; these are cheaper but don't come in the uber-cool pink box and infringe on copyrights and I do not encourage buying anything but the real import.

These pages use Shift-JIS encoding to display the Japanese characters. First comes the original Japanese title, then in [ ] is the romanized title, then in { } brackets is the translation (which may or may not be entirely accurate.) After that is the time and where in the movie it's played. Clicking on each title takes you to a more detailed page on each song. If your broswer cannot view Japanese characters (Netscape has this problem more than Internet Explorer), you can reload this page through Shoudoka which will display Japanese as graphics.

Note: Song information may contain spoilers!

Shoujo Kakumei Utena: Adolescence Rush
KICA-471, ISBN: 4-98003-232832, released by King Record Co., Ltd.

In addition to the movie soundtrack, there is also a single featuring Masami Okui singing two songs: One from Cyberteam Akihabara - Labyrinth, and the other from Utena - Toki ni Ai wa. There are also karaoke tracks for both songs. Let me say right now that the karaoke versions for both songs is GORGEOUS. Just as gorgeous as the original vocals. This CD is well worth its price, which is usually around $15. Labyrinth is a fast-paced, upbeat song while Toki ni Ai wa... well, you know what it sounds like, don't you! It was released by King Records/Star Child and is KIDA-181. CDJapan's site says the title is not in stock, but I ordered my copy from DeoDeo.Com. Their site is a little hard to navigate but click on the "English" button to access their English page. To find the CD, it's best to search for KIDA-181 as their romanization is rather different. The best part about DeoDeo is that they don't charge for shipping if you live in the US. Their service is also quite prompt.

For scans of the CD and the booklet, as well as the Masami Okui single, head over to my CD scans page.
