Okay.

Hi. I'm Ming-Ling, also known as Tama-Neko-chan or Tama-Kame. If you want to really know more about me, you should probably check out my main website, ming-ling.net. There's plenty of stuff there that would make it silly to have it cut and pasted here, so I'll leave it at that.

I first started watching Utena when Software Sculptors released the first part of the television series. We rented the first tape (dubbed) from Blockbuster. Actually, the dub wasn't too bad. Then my friend got ahold of the boxed set subbed, so we watched those, too.

Then... for a while, nothing. Utena was cool and all but so were a bunch of other series and it wasn't given much thought. Then I found a place to download some of the later episodes because the rights hadn't been bought yet. Hence, I finished watching the television series.

Wow. That was one heck of an ending.

Then... again, nothing. Utena was cool and all with a really kickass ending, but so where other series I liked.

Then I found a place to download the movie.

Things haven't been the same since.

So far I have the following Utena Merchandise:
* Utena the Movie, raw, on a CD somewhere, in .avi format.
* Utena the Movie, fansubbed, VHS from Sachi's Distribution (subbed by MaachaQ).
* Soundtrack # 8 - Adolescence Rush, bought at Mikado Laser's booth during AX 2000.
* The movie manga, which I picked up at LA Kinokuniya.
* An "Utena Stainless Bookmarker" I got for my birthday with Utena and Anthy in movie clothing on it. It's framed by some intricate wirey design.
* The Newtype Animation artbok, which I picked up at LA Kinokuniya. I got it mostly for the script... ^_^;
* The Utena Movie program book, the hardcover thingie they sold at the movie theaters where they were showing the movie. I picked it up used at Mandarake in Torrance. See Visuals for scans.
* An Utena movie program flyer that they gave out when they showed the movie at UCLA's James Bridges/Melnitz Theatre during the 2000 Anime A-Go-Go event. See Visuals for scans.
* An article which ran in the LA Times talking about the showing at Melnitz, complete with a picture of Utena and Anthy from the cover of the movie manga.
* Utena manga (full set) in Mandarin, that I got at a local Chinese bookstore.
* The North American release of the DVD, Limited Edition.
