Xelloss: [waving] Irrashimase!

Gourry: [confused] What are we doing here?

Xelloss: On behalf of the author, who's been getting a few complaints that we aren't showing up enough in Slayers FUSHIGI, we're here to give a quick note about what's going on in the Slayers world! [He bows with a flourish.]

Gourry: [still confused] We are?

Xelloss: We are.

Gourry: Oh. I should probably get back to reading that book Lina's in.

Xelloss: [sweatdrops] As you can see, we are quite alive and healthy and active even if the author's only focusing the story on the book world...

Author: [grumpily] Unless you want the thing to be two hundred pages, I'm sticking to the book world, thankyouverymuch.

Gourry: Um, right. Anyway, I haven't been up to much. [Pauses.] Actually, I've hardly been doing anything except read the book and stuff. And deal with the innkeeper.

Xelloss: Innkeeper?

Gourry: Yeah, he was mad because we weren't paying for the rooms after Lina and Naga disappeared. I mean, Lina had most of the money. But everything's fixed now. [He smiles.]

Author: [sweatdrops] I had planned to write a confrontation scene between the innkeeper and Gourry. Actually, I had planned to write an episode focusing on what Gourry was doing; perhaps a confrontation with Xelloss too -

Xelloss: Really? That would have been amusing.

Author: ...But I couldn't figure out a space to put it in. And the story was getting way to long without that episode already. And it would have broken the train of thought.

Xelloss: Don't you mean derailed?

Gourry: Train?

Author: [sweatdrops again] Well, then. Xelloss, why don't you tell our loyal readers why you haven't made any appearances yet?

Xelloss: Sore wa himitsu desu!

[As Gourry facefaults, a large mallet appears out of the Shijintenchiso and smacks him on the head.]

Lina's voice: I HEARD THAT!

Xelloss: Itai! Fine, fine. [He rubs a sore spot on his head.] But I haven't been totally without appearance in this fic. If you read the story closely, you'll notice my spy in quite a few scenes, keeping track of things, being a little annoying...and so on and so forth. You see, I can't go into the book myself. [He pouts.] It's darn annoying, I tell you.

Author: Actually, the entire story hinges on the fact that Xelloss can't enter the book world.

Xelloss: Ahem, yes. But as for the reason... sore wa himitsu desu!

Gourry: I thought only girls could go into the book.

Xelloss: [sweatdrops] Well, that might be a possibility, too. But the real reason... well... I can't reveal it to you yet! Sore wa himitsu desu!

Lina's voice: I SWEAR, IF I WASN'T STUCK IN THIS GODAWFUL BOOK, I'D COME OUT THERE AND GIVE YOU A GOOD THROTTLING!

Xelloss: If you weren't stuck in the book there wouldn't be a fic in the first place.

Lina's voice: FLARE ARROW!

Author: [while Xelloss puts out the fire] The real reason would be a spoiler... so you'll just have to wait until I write that part. But rest assured. Once Lina and Naga return from the book world, Xelloss and Gourry will have parts again!

Xelloss [slightly singed] and Gourry [somehow managing to escape harm]: Yay!
