TACHIBANA Kaimu is the mangaka behind Shinesman. She was born 2/18 in Tokyo, her blood type is A, and her Zodiac Sign is Pisces. Her debut was in 1988 when she released Maboroshii Yori Utsutsuna, the tankouban which is available from Gakken Pocke Comics. Since then she has created series including Royal Straight Flush, Try Again!, Shinesman, The Ca Bine Saga series including Letort and Dark Craibe, Komisch, Data, Rasen no Kakera, Ashita no Tamago and Turning Point. Her earlier works are mostly published by Gakken Pocke, her later works mostly published by Wings (Shinshokan.) The exception is Ashita no Tamago, which was a project that ran in the popular phonebook manga Asuka along with such series as DNAngel and CLAMP's X and had tankouban published by Asuka DX (Kadokawa).
Two of her current, ongoing works are Data (a fantasy story) which runs in phonebook Wings Flash and Komisch (a high school comedy) which runs in the phonebook South. Both have around 5 tankouban published by Wings Comics and contain shounen-ai elements.
Her manga series are aimed at an older audience - usually late teens, as evidenced by her stories - usually involving people in their late teens to early twenties in various universes. There are also elements of shounen ai in her stories, although there is nothing explicit that I've seen past a hug or a kiss. Because the target audience is a slightly older crowd, almost all of her series do not have furigana by the kanji - which means beginning to intermediate readers in Japanese may find themselves struggling to decipher some of the meanings! Only Ashita no Tamago has furigana.
In addition to these manga series, Tachibana has two artbooks out: one is titled Nothing and contains artwork from many of her early titles including Shinesman and Letort as well as Samurai Troopers doujinshi images. The second is titled Rasen and has artwork from the series Rasen no Kakera. She also created a variety of doujinshi based on other people's series - most notably Gundam Wing, Yoroiden Samurai Troopers (Ronin Warriors) and Angelique. Some of these are published under the Doujinshi circle LAIM. On occasion you might be able to find some of these for sale on E-Bay if you do a search for "Tachibana".
Although Tachibana's titles aren't well known the artwork is crisp and gorgeous and her series are definately worth checking out!
