I'm Melissa Louie, not to be confused with Melissa Louie. I'm also known as Ming-Ling or Tama-Neko in various parts of the internet. I've been making web sites since 1995, and have been using Photoshop and Illustrator for just as long. Although I went to school and got a BA and a Masters in biology and biotechnology, through a twist of luck I got a job as a webmaster at Google. That was over four years ago, and I haven't looked back.
ming-ling.net has been around since 2001 as a domain, although it had existed hosted by other domains since the late 1990s. Over the years I built a lot of websites that were hosted by this domain, although most of those sites are dormant. I also went through a lot of different designs for ming-ling.net itself. The current design was created in May 2010, and launched to coincide with the launch of the Google Web Fonts API and looks best in the newest, most CSS-compliant browsers like Firefox 3.6 and Chrome 5.
Here are some sites that I've created over the years in my spare time. This isn't an exhaustive list (although a quick Google search will probably turn up the others) but a collection of pages that don't make me cringe when I look at them.
html & css experiments
A place to dump HTML and CSS experiments that I sometimes build to play around with the latest technologies.
